With the Jack Devine P-40 model, much of the work has already been done for you. Imagine opening the box and finding a fully-formed foam frame waiting there for you!  You won't have to imagine what your model is going to look like framed up.  The frame is done, the shape is already complete!  All that's left to do is follow the easy video instructions for capping, sheeting, and installing some hard points like a firewall and landing gear blocks, and your model is ready for gear and finish!  Once you look at it you'll realize with a P-40 this size just how quickly you can be in the air compared to a stick-built model.  There's just no comparison in building time, a Jack Devine model builds faster every time! 

The Curtiss-Wright P-40 Warhawk was considered to be a successful aircraft by the U.S. Government, despite being outclassed by the Messerschmitt 109 and the Focke-Wulf 190.  Smart pilots capitalized upon the P-40's low-altitude maneuverability and toughness, and learned ways to win even against newer, faster planes.  When the Tuskeegee airmen first flew in North Africa, they flew the P-40 Warhawks until they received their famous P-51 Mustangs, and with the lessons they had learned flying the P-40 Warhawks, they went on to fly their Mustangs into history.

    Perhaps best known for the shark's mouth version flown by the Flying Tigers in the China Theatre, the P-40 earned its reputation time and again for its toughness, and not only bringing their pilots home, but making the kills as well.  One of the most famous warbirds ever produced, to be sure!

The P-40 is an excellent choice for modelers who want to fly a warbird, because of the generous wing area of the full-scale P-40.  This also makes the Jack Devine P-40 Warhawk a terrific scale endeavor, as our foam-core technology combines lightness with light wing loading, allowing a lot of scale additions!  It is designed and cut to very scale dimensions, so this sport-scale giant will not only fly well, it's a real eye-catcher with its true-to-scale silhouette.  You just can't help but look good at the field!

    The wings have pre-cut control surfaces, servo pockets, and wire channels. Included is all of the balsa you will need for sheeting, a generous hardware package consisting of hardware, landing gear, and a fiberglass cowling and Lexan canopy are included as well.  Cutting for retracts is optional.  Uses Robart Retracts Model #148 rotating gear with 4" wheels.

Building time:  This kit can be built in as little as 25 hours, even with limited building experience!
