With the Jack Devine Firecracker model, much of the work has already been done for you. Imagine opening the box and finding a fully-formed foam frame waiting there for you!  You won't have to imagine what your model is going to look like framed up.  The frame is done, the shape is already complete!  All that's left to do is follow the easy video instructions for capping, sheeting, and installing some hard points like a firewall and landing gear blocks, and your model is ready for gear and finish!  Once you look at it you'll realize with a model this size just how quickly you can be in the air compared to a stick-built model.  There's just no comparison in building time, a Jack Devine model builds faster every time!     

The R-4  Firecracker was a 1930's Thompson Trophy racer with clean, fast lines.  Utilizing some new design and frame innovations for the time, it made consistent good showings in virtually every race it was entered in.  The Firecracker did miss some races, however, plagued by mishaps before and after races, most of which occurred during landings after successful races!  Even so, when the R-4 Firecracker took to the air, it provided fierce competition for the other racers, and consistently thrilled the crowds!  

    This Jack Devine model has the same sleek, fast lines, and the added advantage of low wingloading and a super-tough constitution due to Jack Devine's foam core construction!  This kit is easily built using our step-by-step instructional video which guides you through the capping and sheeting of all the foam pieces.     The wings have pre-cut control surfaces, servo pockets, and wire channels. Cutting for retracts is optional. A racing airfoil wing is also available. The kit comes complete with all of the balsa you will need for sheeting, all the necessary hardware, landing gear, fiberglass cowling and a Lexan canopy are included.  Uses Robart Retracts Model #622 with 4"wheels.
